Photo of a "bad patch of road" between Rumbek (interim capital of South Sudan) and Mvolo in 2005. It could take up to eight hours to drive 75 miles. This is a major throughfare for traffic beween South Sudan and Uganda. Yet, after generations of civil war, South Sudan has only a few kilometers of paved road.
