SOUTH SUDAN
A group of Kakua women passionately shake their bodies across Freedom Square's dirt dance floor. Traditional performances like this one grace the intermissions of public events, such as government rallies and social development events.
Rumbek served as the interim capital of South Sudan in 2005, due to the large presence of North Sudanese soldiers in the South's true capital, Juba. In 2006, the capital moved back to Juba.
