The 2007 Smithsonian Folklife Festival showcased cultural pieces from around the world, some as large as this painted Pakistani bus, which was commissioned especially for the 2007 festival. The bus, a 1976 Bedford, now forms a part of the Smithsonian's permanent collection.

Every inch of the bus has been painted and adorned in traditional Pakistani fashion by Pakistani truck folk artists Haider Ali and Jamil ud-Din.
