MALI

A Dogon boy takes a break from painting strips of "mud cloth." Mud cloth is used to make traditional Dogon clothing, such as the shirt the boy is wearing. It is made by sewing together strips of woven cloth, which is then hand-painted using various mud-colored paints tinted by natural substances, such as tree leaves.
