Irene Abdou will be teaching several all-day photography workshops (field trips) through the Metropolitan Visual Arts Education Center (VisArts).

Originally founded in 1987 as the Rockville Arts Place, the Metropolitan Center for the Visual Arts (VisArts) moved into a beautiful big, new building in 2007 that houses several galleries, art studios, and educational spaces. Irene began her relationship with VisArts when she was juried into their 2008 “Face of the World” exhibit by Frank Goodyear, Assistant Curator of Photography at the National Portrait Gallery. Irene now keeps a regular offering of 10 or 15 fine art photography pieces in their first-floor shop, VisArts Too.

In 2010, Irene will be teaching several photo workshops through VisArts in their winter/spring semester:

- Art of People & Event Photography – Photographing the National Cherry Blossom Festival: Saturday, March 27, 2010, 9:30 AM-5:30 PM

- Art of Architecture – Photographing the Franciscan Monastery: Saturday, May 22, 2010, 9:30 AM-5:30 PM
