"Nobility," one of Irene's fine art photographs from her 2007 trip back to Niger, West Africa has been juried into the "Face of the World" show at VisArts (the Metropolitan Center of the Visual Arts) in Rockville, MD. The show will run from February 10-March 31, 2008 - join us at the opening reception on Sunday, February 10, 2008 fom 12:00-3:00 pm.

In addition, a "Meet the Artists" session and juror's presentation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 6:30-7:30 pm (rescheduled from February 13). The juror, Frank Goodyear, will speak about his work and influences, as well as his selections for the "Face of the World" exhibit.

After the opening reception, you may stop by to view the exhibit anytime during opening hours, Monday to Saturday from 10:00-6:00 and Sunday from 12:00-5:00 pm.

After March 31, "Nobility" will be moved to the 4th/5th floor of the Rockville Innovation Center, where it will continue to be exhibited through August 31, 2008. (The Rockville Innovation Center is the same building that houses VisArts.)

About the Juror, Frank Goodyear:
Frank Goodyear is the Assistant Curator of Photography at the National Portrait Gallery, and a faculty member in the Department of American Studies at The George Washington University. Goodyear completed his undergraduate work at Princeton University and received his Ph.D. in the Dept. of American Studies at the University of Texas. He is the author of Red Cloud: Photographs of a Lakota Chief, and is currently conducting research on the career of Zaida Ben-Yusuf (1869-1933) at the National Portrait Gallery.
