Irene named SELECTED ARTIST in Agora Gallery's 2008 Chelsea International Fine Art Competition

Agora Gallery of Chelsea, New York, announced today the results of its 23rd annual Chelsea International Fine Art Competition. While organized and sponsored by Agora Gallery, the competition was independently juried by Manom Slome, Chief Curator of the Chelsea Art Museum, New York. See the article above for a biography of Ms. Slome. who has curated an impressive number of exhibits at both the Guggeinheim Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

The 41 selected artists will receive an award certificate, together with one of the following honors: 1-year placement on Art-Mine.com, a group exhibit at Agora Gallery, a cash award, or a review in ArtisSpectrum magazine.

Irene Abdou is one of only six artists to be awarded the 1-year placement on Art-Mine.com.
